Introduction of teacher's training courses -
Teacher's training courses are the courses in which pupil teachers take trainings to teach professnaly as a trained teachers in different pre primary, primary, middle/junior, secondary and senior secondary schools and also in the colleges and universities. The two main components of teacher education and training courses are pre service teacher education courses and inservice teacher education courses . Pre service teacher's training courses are divided in different certificate courses, diploma courses, degree courses and other advance courses . These courses are recognised by the NCTE(National Council for teacher education )and affiliated with the different state and central universities .The National Council for Teacher Education as a statutory body came into existence in pursuance of the National Council for Teacher Education Act, 1993 (No. 73 of 1993) on the 17th Agust 1995. NCTE is an autonomous body to control and recognize teachers training colleges, Universities and institutions in India.

1. NTT ( Nursery teacher's training)
For- pre primary/nursery school teachers
Duratoin of the course: 1year
Eligibility : 10+2 (Intermediate)
2. DElEd ( Diploma in elementary education)
For - Primary /Elementary school teachers
Duration of the course : 2 years/4 semesters
Eligibility :Graduation and 10+2(In some states)
3. BTC (Basic training certificate course)
For - Primary /Elementary school teachers
Duration of the course : 2 years/4 semesters
Eligibility :Graduation and 10+2(In some states
4. BEd ( Bachelor of Education)
For - Middle/ junior, secondary and senior secondary school teachers.
Duration of the course :2 years/4 semesters
Eligibility :Graduation with 50 percent marks
5. BABEd (Integrated course forArts students)
For-Middle/ junior, secondary and senior secondary school teachers.
Duration of the course :4 years
Eligibility : 10+2 (Intermediate in arts subjects)

Admission procedures -
Admission processes are different in different states and central universities. Some colleges and universities takes admissions through an entrance examination and some takes admissions by a merit list of their academic performances/ marks and achievements.
